Salam alaikum,
so they like to call it Luxor in english.. though the term itself is from Qasr (palace), err.. a superlative form of 'fortified' Qasr, i suppose.
on a semi crazy side note though, these semantics here remind me of the word 'Thug'; The english word Thug comes from the Indian subcontinent word 'Thuggee'. The thuggee(s) were described as a cult of people engaged in the multiple murder & looting/robbery of travelers.
o well..

Its a nice rare chance to observe the youm Ashoora fast at the very place where Musa alehi salam (Moses) & his nation were ultimately saved from the ultimate tyrant & his ill-willed ilk.
Aside from the faraaina's (pharoas) fancy palaces making it an open air museum (of ibrat :p i suppose) & what not.. there are some ancient 12th century Masaajid im really interested in.

Right frikin' now though, i need to focus on this flamboyant presentation preoccupying me from much of my sharing mood..
